Echo of an Alcoholic
She sits at the bar, sobbing.
Her head swirls with pain, throbbing.
She wearing the same wrinkled face as her mother.
Her brain tearing at thoughts like no other.
Voice cracking, she begs for another.
How many bottles, no one's counting.
One too many, now shes drowning.
Seeing things that aren't there.
Perception fading like the color of her hair.
Flashing back before it fades to black.
Viewing her life like a projection on a screen.
She feels no fear as she's taken from scene to scene.
She smiles at the realization that she has run out of tomorrows.
She finally drowned all of her sorrows.
An angelic staircase rises from the floor.
